Frequently Asked Questions
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask that you please reschedule or cancel at least 24 hours before the beginning of your appointment or you may be charged a cancellation fee of 100% of the price of your scheduled appointment. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment will result in a charge equivalent to the full appointment fee. To avoid this fee, we kindly ask clients to provide at least 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or rescheduling. This policy ensures that we can accommodate other clients and manage our schedule effectively. Exceptions to this policy may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Do you do direct billing?
We direct bill to a majority of major insurance providers in Alberta, including:
AB Blue Cross, Allstate Life & Health, ASEBP, Canada Life, Chambers of Commerce, Co-operators, Coughlin & Associates, GreenShield, Johnston Group, Manulife, People Corporation, Simply Benefits, Sun Life
If your insurance provider or plan is not eligible for direct billing, we’ll provide you with a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement.
Please note: Student Massage Therapy services are not eligible for insurance coverage and cannot be direct billed. Student appointments are offered at a reduced rate to make therapeutic massage more accessible while supporting our student therapist’s clinical journey.
What should I expect during my first massage therapy visit?
You will be required to fill out a health history form. Afterward, the therapist will begin by asking you general questions to establish what areas you would like worked on, if there are any conditions needing to be addressed, and to determine if massage is appropriate for you. Your massage therapist may perform certain assessments and testing to evaluate your condition and to see if you have any presenting complaints.
It is important to list all health concerns and medications so the therapist can adapt the session to your specific needs without doing any harm. It is also important to list any allergies, so the therapist is aware if she needs to use a different oil during the session.
What should I wear to my massage therapy appointment?
You will be required to remove your clothing and wear knickers, pants or boxer shorts, so what you wear to and from the treatment does not matter. For male clients it is slightly preferable to wear pants or short boxer shorts rather than ‘longer style’ boxers, as this prevents oil getting onto clothing when the upper leg is being massaged. Please remove all jewellery prior to your treatment.
How far should I book my appointments in advance?
Our RMT’s books are filled quickly so we recommend booking at least 2-3 weeks in advance or pre-booking your next few visits during checkout to ensure you get your preferred time slots. Our online booking through Vagaro is open 24/7.
I was late to my appointment, do I still get my full appointment time?
No, if you arrive late you will receive the remaining time left of your massage. Clients are responsible to pay the full amount of their scheduled appointment regardless of tardiness, however, we understand things come up during the day and we try to accommodate clients the best on a case by case basis. We will try to fit in as much of your scheduled time as possible if you arrive late.
Why do you need a credit card on file?
Our online booking through Vagaro requires a credit card to reserve your appointment online. Your credit card reserves your appointment, and will only be billed if no-show fees or late cancellation fees apply, or if credit card payment is selected as your form of payment when checking out.
